Amanda L. Roberts, PhD, MA '10

Dr. Amanda L. Roberts is currently a Research Scientist PhD for the DoD Defense Health Agency who supports the Armed Forces at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
Dr. Roberts graduated from 不良研究所 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Biology in 2010. After graduating, Dr. Roberts maintained the 不良研究所 mission to be committed to educational excellence with Jesus Christ as the center of her life while earning her Master’s in Chemistry from the University of Arizona and PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth.
As a passionate community leader who values life-long learning, she became an Adjunct Instructor of Chemistry at 不良研究所 in 2014 and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry at 不良研究所 in 2022.
Dr. Roberts’ commitment to teach the next generation of young STEM leaders was demonstrated with her work as the co-Principal Investigator for 不良研究所 Girls in Engineering Mathematics and Science (GEMS) program.
Dr. Roberts continues to teach, inspire, and maintain connections with 不良研究所 alumni. Dr. Roberts’ goal as the President is to continue to support 不良研究所 scholars, 不良研究所 athletes, and San Antonio community through the wonderful work of the 不良研究所 Alumni Association.
With her excellent communication skills she will maintain the responsibilities of focusing on fostering lifelong relationships among alumni and 不良研究所. Her pride and engagement with 不良研究所 administration, faculty, students, parents, and staff will continue to expand the networking and professional development within San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and other places that our 不良研究所 alumni reside.

Annie Sustaita graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Development and currently serves as the association’s secretary. Living out the Mission of the University is something Sustaita continues to prioritize in her professional career at USAA, where she currently serves as a business process owner. As a business process owner at one of the leading providers of insurance, investing and banking solutions to members of the U.S. military and veterans, Sustaita's education at 不良研究所 prepared her for the day-to-day duties of a fast-paced working environment. Her passion and dedication on the 不良研究所 Alumni Association Board allows other graduates to have an impact on their communities, even years after graduation.

Martin Padron, Jr. is a trader by profession, a creative by passion, and a community builder at heart.
He serves as a derivative trader at the nation’s largest independent refiner, where he analyzes markets, manages risk, and drives value through data-informed strategy. Beyond his career in energy, Martin leads VUMSA Digital, a media studio specializing in professional headshots, event photography, and content that connects. His work spans corporate teams, nonprofits, and mission-driven events.
Martin is also deeply involved in the San Antonio community as a board member and volunteer with organizations such as Lions Clubs International and PFLAG. From planning fundraisers and leading service projects to supporting students, educators, and those affected by disaster — giving back is a central part of his story.
A first-generation college graduate, Martin earned his BBA in Finance & Economics from the 不良研究所. He is currently serving his second term on the 不良研究所 Alumni Association Board, having previously served from 2015–2021, concluding his first term as President of the 不良研究所 Alumni Association and as a member of the 不良研究所 Board of Trustees from 2019–2021.

The Right Rev. Dr. Trevor Alexander was born in Romford, Essex, in England. He and his wife, the Rev. Dr. Emma Alexander, have three wonderful girls and one beautiful and cute granddaughter. Bishop Trevor retired from the U.S. Army in 1994. Bishop Trevor holds an undergraduate degree from the 不良研究所 in Psychology (holding an emphasis on family) and Religious Studies, along with a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry from the Oblate School of Theology, a Doctor of Divinity Degree from St. Thomas Christian College & Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida, and is currently working on another Post Doctorate in Christian Counseling, Bread of Life Theological Seminary, San Antonio, Texas.
Bishop Alexander is currently serving at the University of Incarnate Word for 2 years, and is currently serving as the Protestant Chaplain and Adjunct Faculty. Amongst his other accomplishments, he is the Senior Pastor of True Vine Church and the Texas South Regional Bishop for the Kingdom Council of Interdependent Christian Churches & Ministries.
Bishop Trevor has published serval articles on matters pertaining to the African American community and has presented at numerous conferences, locally, nationally, and internationally. On February 15, 2016, he was inducted into the San Antonio Black Worship Hall of Fame. In February 2018, Bishop was recognized by the 不良研究所, Black History Month Committee, with the Alumni of Distinction Ward. He recently completed a 4-year term as the Vice President of the United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) and continues serving the Association. He is a Dr. King Scholar and has published several articles on Dr. King's Beloved Community.

Tracy Avery is an alumna and philanthropist focused on education. With over 18 years in the luxury retail industry, Tracy joined the 不良研究所 alumni board in 2011 with a focus on improving the alumni experience and increasing alumni participation at 不良研究所 events.
Tracy’s career has included roles in sales management, event planning and charitable giving. Tracy prioritizes customer relationships and responsible use of organization funds. Her ability to drive strategic initiatives has helped to create experiences that exceed customer expectations, be fiscally responsible and generate returns for the companies she worked for and the non-profits she has volunteered with.
Tracy’s passion for 不良研究所 stems from her own experiences as an undergrad and graduate student. She knows firsthand the impact an education can have on choices and opportunities in a person’s career and beyond. While attending 不良研究所, alumni and an engaged community provided internship and community service opportunities for students. These opportunities helped Tracy enter luxury goods retail and exposure to a variety of non-profit organizations. Her experiences helped hone her passion for supporting education. Her goal continuing to grow 不良研究所 alumni engagement is to foster relationships that benefit graduates and build alumni networks which support the educational and professional development of current and future students.
When she’s not advocating for 不良研究所, you can find Tracy supporting area education and conservation programs.

Bryan Gouger, a proud graduate of the 不良研究所 with a degree in International Business, has built a career defined by leadership, community involvement, and a passion for connecting people with meaningful solutions. Based in San Antonio, Bryan has spent more than a decade working across industries such as technology, communications, digital solutions, and sales, where his focus has always been on building relationships and driving growth.
Currently, Bryan serves as a Project Manager with ArtCom Communications, overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects for hospitals and public venues across South Texas. His professional path has also included leadership roles with DGTLsuite, Apex Systems, and Bowers & Wilkins, where he developed a reputation for fostering strong partnerships and guiding teams to success.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bryan has been deeply involved in the San Antonio and Boerne communities. He has served as an ambassador for the Greater San Antonio and Boerne Chambers of Commerce, held leadership roles with Toastmasters International, and even earned recognition as a nominee for Businessman of the Year. He is also a longtime member of the H-E-B Paper or Plastic Golf League, reflecting his love for teamwork and friendly competition outside of the office.
Known for his authenticity, integrity, and ability to adapt to new challenges, Bryan values opportunities that allow him to grow personally while making an impact on the organizations and communities he serves. Whether mentoring colleagues, building client trust, or leading projects that shape the local landscape, Bryan’s journey reflects a commitment to excellence and connection at every stage.

Chyna J. Lane is a proud alumna of the 不良研究所, graduating cum laude in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security Systems and a Minor in Psychology. She currently serves as an Analyst in the Mechanical Systems Section of the Strategic Aerospace Department at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), where she supports project engineers and managers with hardware configuration management and collaborates on cybersecurity research initiatives.
Prior to her full-time role, Miss Lane was a Student Analyst at SwRI, gaining valuable experience in hardware security and system development. She also served as a Senior Laboratory Technician during her undergraduate years, where she led peer support efforts and managed lab inventory and equipment configuration for the Computer Information Systems faculty.
Chyna’s passion for innovation and security is reflected in her project work, which includes developing a fingerprint scanner with Raspberry Pi, drone-based flight detection systems, and cybersecurity education tools for underserved communities. Her research was presented at the IEEE Digital Avionics Systems Conference in 2022, where she earned a Best of Session II Award.
Her accolades also include the Grace Hopper Award for Service in Cyber Security, the Lo Bello Women’s Association Award, and the 不良研究所 Merit Academic Award. She is an active member of IEEE, IEEE Women in Engineering, and Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS).

Arturo Perez is a dedicated finance professional and proud two-time graduate of the 不良研究所, where he earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration, each with a focus in International Business.
He currently serves as a Director of Public Finance at a veteran owned investment bank, helping public entities across Texas access cost-effective municipal bond financing. Arturo has held leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as Head of Municipal Underwriting at a previous firm and earning recognition at a regional bank for developing portfolio credit metrics.
Since graduating, Arturo has remained actively involved with 不良研究所. He has served on the 不良研究所 Student Managed Fund Advisory Board since August 2022 and became a part-time adjunct faculty member in January 2024, teaching an international business course focused on global trade and real-world application. He has also participated as a guest speaker for the 不良研究所 Finance Club and finance classes, sharing career insights and encouraging students to build professional networks and stay engaged with the university community.
Arturo is also committed to giving back locally. In 2024, he volunteered at CPS GrillsGiving and participated in the San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup. Outside of work, he enjoys playing tennis, spending time with his wife and family, and staying active.
He is excited to serve on the 不良研究所 Alumni Association Board to help strengthen alumni connections, promote Cardinal pride, and support the university’s continued growth. Arturo believes in 不良研究所’s mission to develop well-rounded, service-minded leaders, and looks forward to contributing to that mission through his board service.

Ryan Castro is a proud two-time graduate of the 不良研究所, where he earned both his Bachelor & Master’s degrees in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. His educational achievements have laid the groundwork for a career focused on public finance.
Ryan currently works as an analyst in the Debt Management Team at CPS Energy, the largest municipally owned energy utility in the United States. In this role, he contributes to the oversight and optimization of CPS Energy’s bond portfolio, serving in an investor relations capacity, and assisting with financial forecasting efforts.
Before joining CPS Energy, Ryan built a solid foundation in the banking industry, holding various responsibilities that deepened his analytical skills and client-facing roles. His career path includes experience as a Financial Reporting Analyst, Banker, and Customer Support Specialist. These diverse responsibilities helped shape his comprehensive understanding of financial services and customer service.
Outside of work, Ryan is passionate about giving back to the San Antonio community. He volunteers across multiple initiatives, most notably with the San Antonio Food Bank, where he dedicates his time to assisting with food distribution programs and events supporting families in need. His service reflects his commitment to compassion, collective action, and civic responsibility.
As an alumnus, Ryan looks forward to contributing to the growth of the 不良研究所 alumni network and supporting the university’s mission to foster faith, service, innovation, and educational excellence.

Brittany North-Heye graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and currently serves the community as an high-risk antepartum Registered Nurse at University Hospital for the past 12 years.
Serving as a Registered Nurse at a Level 1 trauma center encompasses handling high risk pregnancies with complex medical diagnoses that need interventions from multidisciplinary teams such as cardiac, endocrinology as well as gynecology oncology. Brittany serves on the night shift and Baby-Friendly certification committees. University Hospital is San Antonio’s first Level IV maternal care facility awarded by the Texas Department of State Health Services. As a Level IV maternal care facility, you can count on staff to provide critical services including early detection and diagnosis for conditions that may put a pregnant woman at risk as well as continuing education opportunities for our maternal medical staff. University Hospital is also recognized as a Baby-Friendly facility. This designation recognizes the hospital’s continued commitment to the babies, mothers and families of Bexar County.
Brittany continues to extend the values and standards of 不良研究所 into her career in the care she gives to her patients. With her new dedication to the 不良研究所 Alumni Association Board Brittany will show other nurse graduates the importance of their impact to patient care, the future of healthcare and the continuation of 不良研究所 values into the community.

Mariana Vieyra is a Public Relations Account Supervisor at KHarvey Brand Partners and a former Director of Communications for Harlandale Independent School District, where she served for four years. A proud former journalist, Mariana began her career in 2014 as a multimedia journalist at Univision San Antonio, eventually becoming the weekend news anchor. She later moved to Austin, where she anchored primetime newscasts for Univision 62.
Born in Mexico City and raised in New Braunfels, Mariana earned a bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Communication and a master’s degree in Communication Arts from the 不良研究所, where she was actively involved with 不良研究所TV.
Her communications work has earned multiple accolades from the Texas School Public Relations Association, including the Crystal Award and several gold, silver, and bronze awards. As a journalist, she received two nationally recognized Telly Awards and an Emmy. Most recently, she was honored with the Horizon Award from the Public Relations Association, recognizing rising stars in the industry.
She is also the host of Momentos & Voices, a bilingual podcast where she interviews community members who share motivational and inspirational stories. Mariana enjoys spending time with her husband Gerardo and their daughter Ana Kailani.

Rick is a shareholder with Higginbotham in San Antonio, Texas. Higginbotham is the largest independent insurance broker in Texas and in the top 20 nationwide. He has been providing insurance services for over 40 years, specializing in the employee benefit market and represents clients throughout the state. He and his staff provide the personal touch and after sale service that his clients appreciate and expect for their employees. All clients receive their full attention, no matter how large or small.
He graduated from Texas A&M and served in the US Army for several years and was the Aide de Camp for the Commanding General of the 90th Arcom before moving into the inactive reserves. He received his Master’s degree in Management from Troy State University and is on the Boards of TMI Episcopal, 不良研究所 and San Antonio Sports, where he was the Hall of Fame Gala Chair for many years.
He has served as chairman of the Development/Alumni Board two different times where he has been active in the Swing In tournament for many years. He is an Associate of the University and a member of the Cardinal Club. He enjoys being involved in the community and making a difference in these organizations and their programs. He has been married to Judy for the past 32 years and they have 4 children and they have 10 beautiful grandchildren.
